The most famous hiking trails in the area is Ånderdalen National Park and Dronningruta – only a 10 to 20-minute car ride from Valvåg. You can find numerous marked trails all over Senja.

The 8 kilometres long «Dronningruta» is appropriate for all hikers, regardless of your experience or fitness level. The hike is situated on the peninsula of Stongland and is a nature reserve. The hosts are very familiar in the area and offers guiding during the summer months.

The northernmost multi-stage bicycling race in the world «Arctic Race of Norway» went through Senja in 2015. Thor Hushovd, the world-famous bicycle racer, recommended this race as one of top 5 races in Norway.
During the summer you can pick and choose among a vast number of trails and distances for cycling. You only need to go outside and get on your bike. Considerably more people has discovered Senja as a bicycle destination over the past few year – bicycle racers on all levels, from the professional to the amateur, everyone seems to enjoy riding here.
